How to make iPhone keyboard bigger

The iPhone 12 mini and the future The iPhone 13 mini is a fairly rare species in 2021 – tiny smartphones with flagship specs. But with the convenience of a small phone comes a problem that many people will face: The iPhone 12’s on-screen mini keyboard is too small.

Or maybe you have the iPhone12, iPhone 12 Pro or even the iPhone 12 Pro Max and you are still having issues with keys that are too small for you to type comfortably. Alternatively, you can switch an old Apple smartphone like iPhone SE or SE 2 (2020), which also pack small screens.

Well luckily there is a solution that works the same for all modern iPhones …

This method will work on:

  • iPhone 12 Pro Max
  • iPhone 12 Pro
  • iPhone 12
  • iPhone 12 mini

On your iPhone, open the “Settings” app, scroll down to find the “Display & Brightness” option, and then tap it. Then scroll down and tap “View” under “Show Zoom.”

Here you will see two options, one “Standard” and one “Zoomed”. Tap “Zoomed in,” then tap “Set” in the upper right corner of the screen.

Is the iPhone keyboard still not big enough?

The following method will work on any iPhone model

There is another option to get a bigger iPhone keyboard and that is to install a third-party keyboard app. Unfortunately, Google’s Gboard doesn’t have the option to make it bigger or smaller on iPhone like it does on Android, but other keyboard apps do.

Paid apps like Bigger keyboard or XL Keyboard can do what you’re looking for, but for the purposes of this tutorial we’ll be using the TuneKey application.

Click the link above to download TuneKey on your iPhone, or manually go to the App Store and search for “tunekey”, then tap “Get”.

Once TuneKey is installed on your iPhone, open the Settings app, scroll down until you find “TuneKey”, tap it, then tap “Keyboards” and turn on “TuneKey”.

Now open the TuneKey app and tap on “Adjust key size”. By default, the keys will be at maximum, but you can reduce them here if you want.

Now you can open any app on your iPhone where texting was a problem, and when the default keyboard appears, just tap the “Globe” icon in the lower left corner until TuneKey pops up, giving you the biggest iPhone keyboard you’ve been after.
