Swindon Town recalls Scott Twine of Newport County loan

SWINDON Town has confirmed that Scott Twine has been officially recalled from his Newport County loan.

Twine was due to spend the entire season on loan in South Wales, but after consistently performing at a high level for the Exiles – combined with Town’s struggle to stay in League One – the decision was made to bring Twine back to the County Ground earlier.

The 21-year-old could still return to Rodney Parade this month, however, after the announcement this morning that Newport reportedly sent an offer to Swindon in the hope that they could lure Twine to South Wales with a permanent deal.

In a statement posted on the Swindon Town website, the club said: “Swindon Town has exercised the option to recall Scott Twine from Newport County.

“Twine signed a loan to the Exiles in early September with an option for the club to recall in this transfer window.

Scott impressed in Ligue 2, scoring seven goals in all competitions and also winning the Ligue 2 goal of the month in October for his goal against Cambridge.

“We want to thank Newport County for giving Scott the experience he has in the first team and the club wish them the best for the rest of the season.

“We are delighted that Scott is back at County Ground and look forward to his contribution to the team in the future.”
